Connect CloudMounter to 4EVERLAND for Unified Decentralised File Management

CloudMounter’s name is intuitive—it’s about mounting cloud services as local disk drives. CloudMounter can mount ftp/sftp, Amazon S3, DropBox, OneDrive and other cloud services to macOS like a hard drive, allowing you to manage files in Finder like a local file.

This is a tutorial article to connect the CloudMounter service to the decentralised platform 4EVERLAND. Enable the management of files stored in decentralised protocols (IPFS & Arweave) as if they were in local Finder, if you are interested, please read on.

Before you start, you need to already:

Install CloudMounter
Login to 4EVERLAND

Get Access Key

Click Generate

Configuring AWS-S3 in CloudMounter

Enter the relevant configuration.

The ‘Server endpoint’ can be found at: https://docs.4everland.org/s3-campatiable-api and it’s:

https://endpoint.4everland.com

Click on ‘Mount’, wait a moment and you should be able to access it in the Finder

Don’t have a folder? We need to create a Bucket in the 4EVERLAND Dashboard.

Create new Buckets

Now I will create two Buckets at the same time because 4EVERLAND supports both IPFS and Arweave; creating two Buckets helps us manage our files better.

Please note that the "Sync to AR" button is turned on to ensure that the files within this Bucket will be automatically uploaded to the Arweave network.

Refresh your Finder, and you will see that the two Buckets have appeared on your local disk.

Finally, use it as much as you like!
